Xcel Energy Annual Report 2013

I have the best relationship a photographer can have with my clients at Xcel Energy. They trust me. Every year we get to shoot a variety of subjects and scenes. Every year the approach is different. Our approach this time was to unify the varied subjects of the assignment with a saturated color palette — quite the departure from the de-saturated look of previous years. Every shoot had its challenges. Every shoot had its rewards. Many mornings we were driving to the location worried about what the weather would offer, but the glorious skies we were blessed with couldn’t have been timed better. We even had unexpected rain to add to the reflective qualities of the street scene cover shot!

Here are a few “behind the scenes” shots and some of the final images for the report.
